Some pools just starting to turn green may be able to be treated with aggressive chemical shock and constant circulation of the pool water by running the pump continuously for many days. However, most green pools are best cleaned by draining the pool, cleaning out debris, scrubbing the pool walls with a chlorine bath, refilling the pool water, and balancing the water chemistry.

The best way to determine if you need an acid wash/chlorine bath is to ask yourself is your pool the same color now as it was when you had it built. Lots of things will change the color of your swimming pool such as algae, leaves, calcium buildup, and rust. If you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your pool finish, an acid wash/chlorine bath may be just what your pool needs.

The main purpose of an acid wash/chlorine bath is to remove stains, scale, and calcium from the floor and corners of your pool. If you are not able to see the walls and floor of your pool, then it may be time for an acid wash/chlorine bath. You may also decide on one not because of swamp conditions, but just to bring out a brighter and whiter finish. An acid wash/chlorine bath is always an improvement for your pool.

When we do an acid wash/chlorine bath on your pool we will start by draining the pool completely. This will give us a clear view of our work field. This treatment removes a thin layer of the plaster from your pool, eliminating most stains. The result is a cleaner pool surface without taking on the expense of a costly full re-plaster project. Remember, the process is time consuming but we are here to make your pool look great again. (Includes Startup Chemicals & Filter Cleaning)
